Our client is a market leader in China and Southeast Asia tobacco industry. The Group has been the leading producer and provider of cigarette supplementary materials which included tobacco flavours and fragrances and reconstituted tobacco leaves (RTL) in terms of sales revenue among competitors, maintaining a significant position in China and Southeast Asia tobacco industry.
Nowadays, the Group expended their business to cigarette filters field which included manufacturing and research & development. And the Group aimed to be the leading producer & provider of innovative cigarette special filters in APAC in the coming years.
The Group has established a R&D center in Holzminden of Germany, a State recognized technical center in Shanghai and R&D departments in Guangdong, Yunnan and Fujian provinces in China. And planned to establish a new R&D center in UK in the early of 2013 which dedicate in special cigarette filters research and development.
About the Job:
Technical Expert is based in London; our client is the leading producer and provider of cigarette supplementary materials in Southeast Asia, and aim to be a market leader for producing special cigarette filters in APAC in the coming years. In order to achieve their new business strategy, they will set up a new R&D center in London in the early of 2013. Therefore, currently they are looking to recruit a full time technical expert within the R&D team, based at their UK R&D center.
Champion product innovation within the cigarette filter R&D team;
Develop and manage technical and capital plans relevant to company direction;
Understand fundamental material properties and relationship to customer demands;
Has solid knowledge of fiber-manufacturing technology, procedures and process conditions;
Lead the characterization and measurement of products to improve quality;
Manage validation of new products and processes with key account customers;
Liaise with customers, raw material and equipment suppliers;
Provide effective knowledge transfer as necessary to operations personnel;
Develop process control systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements
At least 8 years experiences in tobacco industry, especially in cigarette filter R&D department;
At least 3 years management experiences;
Solid grounding in the methodology of setting-up and running different stage projects with multiple tasks;
Familiar with the whole cigarette R&D process in tobacco industry;
Practical understanding of modern manufacturing and continuous improvement programs;
Excellent written and verbal communications, keen sense of professionalism
Proficiency with set up and reporting of projects using MS Project / Project Server
Ideally degree educated, with a technical background in one of the main engineering disciplines (mechanical, electronics);
Able to follow low level details while retaining a sense of the big picture;
Good communication skill with good cross-culture sense;
Self-motivated with good team spirit.
